Timeline Visualizer is designed to process your exported location history inside your browser.

Your selected Timeline JSON file is not uploaded to our server.

Timeline files

The file picker and drag-and-drop area use browser file APIs. Parsing, filtering, statistics, route corrections, and playback happen in the page running on your device. Closing or reloading the page clears the loaded route data.

Map requests

The base map starts after a Timeline file has been selected and parsed. It is supplied by OpenFreeMap using OpenStreetMap data. Your browser then requests map tiles for the area currently visible on screen. The Timeline JSON file itself is not sent with those requests.

Downloads

When you save a map image or export route corrections, the browser creates and downloads the file locally. Timeline Visualizer does not retain a copy.

Analytics and accounts

This build does not include account creation, advertising scripts, or behavioral analytics. If that changes, this policy should be updated before those services are enabled.
